IPAS (Image Processing & Analysis System) is a pavement image analysis software package, developed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Michigan State University. This software can be used for image analysis of the internal aggregate structure of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).
An enhanced version of this software, IPAS-2, is an developed at the University of Wisconsin Madison. iPas2 has enhanced aggregate structural characterization cababilities, such as aggregate to aggregate contact identification, contact length determination, as well as identification of the effective load bearing aggregate structure.
